Bodrum, which historically has been an important port city on the Aegean coast of Turkey, became one of the most important tourism spots in the late 1990s. As long-time enthusiasts of this beautiful town whose visitors are astonished with its natural beauties and vast number of recreational amenities; we established Avlu Bistro Bar in November, 2013. The "Slow Food" experience which allows its participants to enjoy their meal in a warm and relaxing environment, has always been a concept that we enjoy and we decided to build our restaurant around this concept. Our venue, which is a 160 years old stone house, was renovated by implementing only minor improvements to preserve its original, historic state. Our restaurant serves a maximum of 40 guests at any given time in its 2 main salons inside and tables placed outside. This way, we ensure that our guests have a comfortable experience and receive the best quality service possible.

Our menu emphasizes the Turkish cuisine, known for its rich and unique tastes, while also incorporating delicious components from the Mediterranean and the world cuisine. We pay just as much attention to having elegant presentation and decent portions as we do to tastiness of our dishes. We wanted to spread the meal into a slow and blissful experience where our guests get to enjoy every bite of their dishes instead of quickly going through their food. We did not want to present our tasty dishes on plain plates in an unmemorable way. Instead, we embellish the plates with delicious side dishes that fit the main course the best. We emphasize lovely presentation that will leave a lasting memory. We believe that an amazing meal is first appealing to the eye, then its smell catches the nose and finally the taste leaves a lasting impact. Our kitchen staff is very experienced and knows that many different variations might come out of the same recipe. This is why the quality and freshness of the ingredients we use is key to us. Our dishes are made with very fresh, locally sourced products and they become masterpieces with the touch of our chef.

Avlu Bistro Bar staff prefers to serve only local wines to show our guests that locally produced Turkish wines are just as high-quality and tasteful as any others from around the world. We serve a wide variety of wines ranging from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir as well as Öküzgözü, Boğazkere, Kalecik Karası. We utilize this wide selection of wine and the knowledge of our experienced staff to appeal to all our guests with different preferences over wine.
